How to Create/Edit a UI

This article explains how to build a new UI in Palpaca. You'll learn how to enter your UI's basic information and navigate through the setup screens.
Step 1: Go to the HubSpot sidebar, click on CRM, and select the object you’re interested in
Step 2: Once you’ve chosen the object (e.g. Contacts), click on the contact you're interested in
Step 3: You will be redirected to Palpaca’s homepage. Click the “Create your first UI” or “Add new UI” button, or select an existing UI you want to edit.
Note: If you need to edit your UI, just click “Edit UI” once it’s created, and continue with the steps from this point.
Step 4: You’ll be redirected to the UI Info page, where you need to fill out:
- UI Name
- UI Type
- UI Description
To proceed, click the “Continue” button at the bottom right.
If you don’t want to continue, click “Discard” (top right corner) and a pop-up will appear where you can confirm your choice.
Step 5: You’ll now land on the Data Sources page. There is a table where on the left, you’ll see available sources; on the right, the objects you want to select.
To set up a source, click the button “Set-up now”.
This opens a sidebar where you will:
- Enter your authentication token
- Click on "Get data"
- Click “Save” to confirm
If your data source is not listed, click the blue link “Request a new data source” and fill in the required information.
Note: This feature is currently in development and works as a suggestion field.
Step 6: Select the API resources you want to include. Click “Select object ” to open a dropdown and choose what you need.
When you’re ready, click “Continue”
Step 7: You will be redirected to the UI Builder screen, where a preview of your UI is shown in the middle pane.
To open the visual builder, click “Edit UI” (top center)
A pop-up will appear:
- On the left, select a UI Module and drag it to the center
- In the center, see the live UI preview
- On the right, the Module Set-up sidebar lets you define data source inputs and formulas
Once finished, close the pop-up and click “Continue”
Step 8: You will be redirected to the Data Output page
Step 9: Choose the platform where you want to send or update data by using the dropdown menu
Step 10: Decide what action Palpaca should perform on the selected platform
Step 11: Match each target field with a Palpaca input using the dropdown. Required fields must be filled before publishing
Step 12: Once everything is configured, click the “Publish” button to complete your UI.
